Submission of the draft law on "legalizing outposts" to the Knesset

Next Wednesday, members of the Israeli Knesset who call themselves "the Land of Israel lobby" will present a bill allowing the organization and legalization of settlement outposts in the West Bank.

The draft law will be presented for a vote on it in the first preliminary reading, by the leadership of the "Israel Lobby", Haim Katz of the "Likud" and Bezalel Smotrich of the "National Union", along with other Knesset members from various parties.

And it was decided to submit the bill - according to the Hebrew Channel Seven - after the government delayed a decision allowing the organization and legitimacy of these outposts after it was prepared by the Civil Administration and the Ministry of Settlement, due to political differences between Benjamin Netanyahu and Benny Gantz.

The law, if approved, requires "the competent authorities to complete the settlement procedures to regulate and legalize those outposts provided by about 70, as their estimated population of 25,000 settlers will receive all services on the same lines as other settlements."
