Erekat warns of the acceleration of "Israel" in the annexation plan

Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Saeb Erekat, warned today, Wednesday, of the possibilities of speeding up the start of implementing the annexation and settlement plan after Israel's recent parliamentary elections.

Erekat said in a statement after meeting in Ramallah a delegation from the International Labor Organization, the Egyptian ambassador to Palestine Issam Ashour, and German representative to Palestine Christian Claggs, separately, that "it is the Israeli scandalous violations of international law that have led to the failure to make peace."

According to the statement, the meetings discussed the results of the recent Israeli elections, the possibilities of a speedy start in implementing the Apartheid annexation and settlement plan, and its implications for the areas of Palestinian life and their effects on security and stability in the Middle East.

"The continued administration of US President Donald Trump in supporting the scheme of annexation, apartheid and colonial settlement means pushing the region and its peoples to more insecurity and persistence, deepening the squares of violence, chaos, extremism and bloodshed," Erekat said.

He called on the countries of the world to "take measures and announce decisions to hold the occupation authority accountable and responsible for its policies, practices and war crimes committed against the Palestinian people."

Erekat stressed that the PLO adheres to international law and international legitimacy as the foundations and pillars of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
