US officials: Return to the nuclear agreement within two days

The Wall Street Journal quoted US officials on Monday as saying that the return to the Iranian nuclear agreement may be completed in Vienna within the next two days.

Iran, the United States and other world powers are close to reviving the 2015 nuclear deal, the newspaper said, "although negotiators are still arguing over final demands from Tehran, including the scope of sanctions relief."

Officials involved in the talks told the newspaper that an agreement could be completed in Vienna within the next two days.

The newspaper pointed out, quoting US officials, that "the agreement will re-impose strict but temporary restrictions on Iran's nuclear program, and in return, US sanctions that have led to the stagnation of most international trade with Iran will be suspended."

On Monday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry also announced that negotiations on the nuclear agreement in Vienna had made great progress.
