The Prisoners and Editors Affairs Authority reported yesterday that the occupation authorities continue to arrest about 5,000 Palestinians in their prisons, including about 200 children and 38 women.

This came in a statement to the Prisoners Authority on the occasion of the International Day for Human Rights, in which the commission affirmed that the Israeli occupation authorities violate all the protection rules provided by international law for detainees, by continuing to detain dozens of Palestinians daily accompanied by the pursuit of abuse policies during the detention operations that lead to the use of excessive force and executions outside The scope of the law.

In addition to continuing the policies of arresting former members of the Legislative Council, human rights defenders, journalists, and arrests on the background of posting on Facebook, the occupation authorities do not exclude these measures, women, children, and minors.

The authority added that the occupation detention administration implemented its repressive and targeted policies to rob the Palestinian prisoner and undermine his dignity, and the investigation station formed the first round to implement these policies through physical and psychological torture methods, which start from the first moment of the prisoner being thrown into the investigation and detention centers, and the prison administration continues to implement operations Repression, oppression, abuse and plundering of the prisoner after his transfer to the central detention centers, and these policies were represented by isolation, imposing financial penalties, and severely assaulting prisoners, especially during the incursions and repeated searches of cells and rooms, and m Accompanied by the sabotage of holdings of prisoners, depriving hundreds of prisoners from visiting their loved ones to them under the permanent pretext, a "security", in addition to the looting of the prisoner the right to treatment and health care through the policy of deliberate medical neglect, as the continued transfer of prisoners through the so-called vehicle "Bosta"

The commission affirmed the serious and systematic violations of the rules of international law practiced by the occupation authorities against Palestinian detainees, and its continued neglect of fair trial guarantees provided by international humanitarian law and human rights laws, especially the Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners 1955, and other international declarations and agreements that guarantee the rights of detainees .

And it called on the international community, to intervene urgently in fulfillment of its legal and moral obligations towards the Palestinians, and to take effective measures to hold the occupation accountable for its daily crimes against the Palestinians and obligate it to respect their rights, and calls on local, regional and international levels to activate solidarity campaigns with the Palestinians to attribute their cause.
