Palestinian youth killed south of Bethlehem

Israeli troops shot dead a young man on Friday near the Gush Etzion settlement bloc south of Bethlehem after he was run over and critically wounded, Israeli medical sources said.

Hebrew media quoted Israeli military sources as saying that the bomber was Alaa Al-Harimi, a 25-year-old resident of Bethlehem, a former prisoner who was detained for a year between 2014 and 2015.

According to local sources that the intelligence of the occupation summoned Abdul Salam al-Harimi;

According to Hebrew media, the bomber noticed two settlers standing outside the guard post and the buses near the settlement of "Eliezer" built on the lands of the citizens in the town of Al-Khader south of Bethlehem. His 19-year-old settler sister was moderately wounded and taken to Hadassah Hospital.

Hebrew media said the Israelis were studying at a Jewish religious school.

Two members of the Israeli police who were present at the scene fired at the young woman, trying to get out of his vehicle with a yellow registration plate.

According to the preliminary investigation by the Israeli security services, the attack is likely to be inspired by recent attacks in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa, and influenced by events during the Eid al-Adha holiday.

A spokesman for the Israeli army described the attack as a "terrorist", and pointed to the "neutralization" of the perpetrator, without providing any details about his fate or health, while sites belonging to the settlers spoke of his death, but Palestinian official sources did not confirm the news.
