Jerusalem Foundation published a research paper entitled "Israel in the Face of the Law" in a research series entitled "This is Israel" in which it said that the Israeli occupation has demolished more than 5,000 homes in the holy city since its occupation in 1967.
The paper, prepared by the Research and Information Department of the Foundation, reiterates the massacres perpetrated by the Zionist gangs in 1948 against the Palestinian people, the Palestinian territories and villages, in addition to the occupation of Sinai and the Syrian Golan, and this represents a violation of international law.
The paper reviewed in detail the most prominent violations by the occupying state of international law against the Palestinians, especially the settlement policy followed by "Israel", noting that the Israeli occupation between 1967 and until 2017 about 14 large settlements and hundreds of exposures in the eastern part of occupied Jerusalem, While the number of settlers exceeded 220 thousand settlers. The occupation authorities confiscated more than 26% of the area of the eastern part of Jerusalem to build settlements or expand existing settlements.
The occupation authorities have also followed the policy of "forcible displacement", where since 1948, thousands of Palestinians have fled their villages in the Jerusalem district, as in the villages of Ein Karem, Deir Yassin, Sheikh Badr and others. Palestinians are displaced to replace settlers or to carry out Jewish projects.
"The demolition of Palestinian homes and the confiscation of their lands", the Israeli occupation authorities have demolished more than 5000 homes in Jerusalem since 1967, and the number of destroyed facilities between 2000 and 2017 to 1700, according to a report by the Center for Land Research. The occupation carries out most of the demolitions under the pretext of building without a permission.
The paper pointed out a number of different routes that contravene the international law adopted by the occupation authorities against the Palestinians, such as the separation wall and unlawful killings, in addition to the continuation of the policy of arrest and control of the Palestinian education sector and fight it.
